Clematis Picardy will blossom from early Summer to Autumn, enjoying a sunny spot to develop with partial shade. Clematis 'Picardy' is a particularly worthwhile cultivar - its bushy stems are filled with bloom from early summer to autumn. Free-flowering, with a neat, compact habit, this hardy climber is perfect for growing in patio containers, and makes a fabulous trailing display when planted in a hanging basket. When planting clematis, choose a position in sun or semi-shade and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Position the top of the rootball at a depth of 7.5cm (3") below soil level, to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry.
