Anemone Bulbs – more info

Anemone bulbs are easy to grow, just soak the bulbs overnight before planting to get them off to a good start. Anemone coronaria varieties like a sunny spot and free-draining soil while Anemone blanda will tolerate part-shade. Both are great for pollinators as well as brightening your garden.

Which are the hardiest anemones?

Anemone blanda is the hardiest type, growing happily in full sun or part shade.

Which anemones are best for naturalising?

For a display that spreads, choose Anemone blanda or A. nemorosa. Both can be planted in autumn and will form natural drifts over time.

Can anemones be used as cut flowers?

Anemone coronaria makes fabulous cut flowers. ‘Lord Lieutenant’ has a double flower and our ‘Rainbow Collection’ will give you a wonderful range of jewel-like colours.
