IT & ERP Director
Position: Full time, permanent position- Monday to Friday
Location: Office base, Poplar Lane, Ipswich
We are the UK’s leading online retailer in our sector with an annual turnover of over £60 million. We are recruiting an IT & ERP Director to join the company’s management team. Reporting to the COO, the perfect candidate is someone who possesses the ability to clearly understand business and user needs, identifying effective solutions that deliver on these needs both for today and the future, whilst recognising the resulting impact on development resource, reassigning business priorities accordingly and effectively setting, managing and communicating deadlines.
Making rational, commercially sound decisions that meet business objectives, the role is not restricted to just the IT & ERP functions, as the role holder will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of the business and the sector so that they can contribute to all areas of the business.
The right person will be an experienced IT & ERP leader, with the ability to also be hands-on, with a background of operating at senior level with responsibility for:
- IT Infrastructure & security
- ERP System Management including system performance, overseeing system development and delivery, and managing IT & ERP partner relationships
- Team management and development
They will possess a wide range of technical and personal experience and skills, including:
- Ensure that processes driven by, or within, the ERP system are effective, fit for purpose and add value throughout
- Ability to lead significant IT & ERP projects with clearly mapped out objectives with a focus on successful delivery and budget control, working with cross-functional teams
- Ensure that the business processes and infrastructure is secure and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Provide clear advice to the Exec team that is relevant to the business, including budget proposals with specific focus on business objectives
- Be a quick thinker, confident and able to articulate IT & ERP matters clearly, with high personal standards and a strong attention to detail and problem solving. Energetic and resilient, happy to set, work to and meet deadlines, under pressure and at pace. Self-aware, self-motivated and confident at driving change.
- Provide dynamic leadership of the IT & ERP team, developing and motivating, ensuring the highest standards are maintained, system processes are efficient, and to ensure the dept is a respected and integral part of the business
- Preparation of monthly department reports including stats on system performance and other relevant KPIs
- Senior presence: ability to communicate professionally at a high level, working as part of the leadership team with a focus on overall business performance
This is a full-time role that is office-based (Ipswich) but we offer some flexibility around working from home. Sector experience is not essential.
