This allium mix brings together a stunning range of varieties, showcasing the versatility and beauty of these iconic plants. From the striking, globe-shaped blooms of Allium Purple Sensation to the cheerful yellow stars of Allium moly, this collection adds a burst of colour, texture, and structure to your garden. Perfectly bridging the end of spring’s floral display and the start of summer’s full bloom, these alliums are not only easy to grow but also provide valuable early nectar for pollinators. Once planted, they require minimal care, making them a perfect addition to any garden. Allium Mix includes the following varieties: Allium Purple Sensation (5 bulbs): With its bold violet-purple spheres of starry blooms, this variety creates a striking architectural presence in summer borders. The tall stems hold blooms up to 8cm (3") across, and after flowering, the seedheads provide added autumn interest. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 10cm (4"). Allium caeruleum (10 bulbs): This variety offers a stunning display of bright blue star-shaped flowers on upright stems, making a vibrant addition to sunny borders. Allium caeruleum is also perfect as a cut flower. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 8cm (3"). Allium Graceful Beauty (10 bulbs): A truly elegant variety, featuring large white star-shaped flowers tinged with the faintest pink, creating a soft yet dramatic contrast against its violet stamens. Ideal for mass planting at the front of borders or in patio containers. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 10cm (4"). Allium ampeloprasum (15 bulbs): Known for its globe-shaped clusters of pale mauve flowers, this allium creates a tall, vertical accent in cottage garden borders. Blooming in June and July, it is also excellent for drying, making it a great choice for cut flower arrangements. Height: 100cm (39"). Spread: 20cm (8"). Allium cowanii (15 bulbs): This variety boasts clusters of pure white, star-shaped flowers that are perfect for cutting. It attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators with its sweetly scented blooms. Plant it in drifts at the front of borders or mixed containers for a fresh spring display. Height: 40cm (16"). Spread: 10cm (4"). Allium moly (45 bulbs): A cheerful, golden burst of colour, Allium moly produces clusters of star-shaped yellow flowers from late spring onward. Perfect for rockeries, the front of borders, or containers, it is loved by butterflies and adds a sunny touch to any garden. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 5cm (2"). This mix combines different heights, colours, and flower forms, providing a dynamic range of textures and shapes, all while offering nectar for early-season pollinators. The plants are hardy and easy to grow, requiring little maintenance once established, making them ideal for both novice and experienced gardeners alike. This mix showcases everything alliums have to offer, from the tall, majestic globes of Allium ‘Purple Sensation’ to the little golden starbursts of Allium moly. Alliums thrive in light sandy, well drained soil in full sun. Avoid planting in cold wet soils as the bulbs are prone to rot in these conditions. Plant allium bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 10cm (4") apart. A slow release fertilizer can be added to poor soils at the time of planting to improve fertility. When growing alliums, plant them where the leaves of other plants will cover the base of their stems. This will hide the old foliage which dies back before flowering begins.

Live Plants

Dobies strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

All Dobies products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days. Unlike many companies, we publish all of our reviews - good or bad - to give you, the customer, total transparency and peace of mind.
