Nectarine 'Fantasia'Prunus persica var. nectarina

‘Fantasia’ is a wonderful new Nectarine, that is ready to harvest from August to September. It produces high yields of bright orange-red fruits, that boast a delicious flavour, yellow flesh and stone free centre! Great for eating fresh from the plant or incorporating into a range of different culinary dishes, be sure to incorporate into kitchen and wildlife gardens, as well as large patio pots and greenhouses. Position in direct sunlight and watch it reach a maximum height of around 4m. One of the best hgarden varieties, nectarine 'Fantasia' is easy to grow and frost tolerant. Propagated onto 'Montclare' rootstock to create a medium sized, manageable tree that is proven to give a bigger crop of nectarines. Nectarine 'Fantasia' is self-fertile and therefore does not require a pollination companion. Height and spread: Up to 25m (8') Rootstock: Montclare. Please note, fruit trees will be despatched as early as possible this autumn, once they have gone dormant and are in the ideal condition for lifting from the nursery and for transplanting by our customers. Plant nectarine trees in rich fertile, well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position. A south facing position is preferable to provide protection from damaging frosts. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole. If the tree is to be bush trained then drive a stake into the ground prior to planting. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. For wall trained nectarines attach support wires to the wall prior to planting. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake or support wires, and water well.
